The Church's Unpardonable Sin
by Pastor Steve Brown, M. Div.

"The unforgivable sin, according to the church, is to criticize or say anything against it by pointing out the failures and faults of the church."

Being a pastor and having ministered in several churches, it became apparent what the worst, unforgivable sin was according to church doctrine.  What do you think it is?  Was it the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? No!  Was it unbelief in Christ?  No!  The unforgivable sin, according to the church, is to criticize or say anything against it by pointing out the failures and faults of the church.  Yet the Lord tells us, “Be not deceived,” but to prove all things with Scripture and the truth.  The Scripture says to “examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith.”  How much more must we examine the Church to see if it is in the true faith or not?  That’s why many of you are afraid to discern the state of the organized church.  You have swallowed the lie it is a sin to evaluate it.
